SRC C-Section Recovery Leggings have been carefully crafted to offer comprehensive postpartum support and relieve discomfort after a C-section (or vaginal birth).

These leggings are designed to promote a safer recovery, helping you regain strength and mobility, encouraging a healthier postpartum experience. They also treat:

  • Abdominal muscle separation (Diastasis Rectus Abdominis Muscle or DRAM),
  • Lower back pain,
  • Perineal trauma, and
  • Pelvic Floor muscle weakness.

The leggings feature a super soft waistband, and thoughtfully placed seams tailored for C-section recovery, ensuring maximum comfort without sacrificing performance.

With added pockets for practicality, these leggings are a perfect fusion of SRC's classic Recovery Leggings, specially adapted to meet the unique needs of women healing from C-sections.

Developed with anti-chafing materials and in collaboration with an obstetrician, SRC C-Section Recovery Leggings deliver superior comfort and support, allowing you to move more easily and recover confidently after childbirth. For further details, please see below.

How They Work

SRC Recovery Garments provide you with increased stability and allow you to move more freely post-delivery, making lifting, feeding, bathing, and caring for your baby much easier.

With no adjustable buttons, velcro or zips, the Recovery Garments are like a second skin. There’s no need to constantly adjust while you’re wearing them. Recommended by health care professionals for improving mobility and pelvic muscle function postpartum, these garments have become a must-have inclusion in hospital bags of women the world over.

Patented Anatomical Support Panels (ASP) in the SRC Recovery Garments deliver targeted compression, ideal for treating multiple conditions like c-section wounds, perineal trauma and episiotomy wounds, abdominal muscle separation, and lower back pain.

They provide support to the pelvic area through gentle yet constant compression, activating muscles and encouraging core stability, reducing swelling and muscle fatigue.

The ASP delivers True Cross Compression (TCC) as each layer within the panel is cut on a different plane so that no compression is lost at any time during the activity.

The research and development of the fabric was extensive as SRC wanted to ensure that it provided support and comfort with no feeling of restriction. The uniquely milled fabric goes through rigorous independent testing to ensure that it is of the highest quality and can stretch and return to its original shape consistently after wash and wear to provide you with optimal performance and a longer-lasting garment.

To make sure they deliver this, they decided to test their fabric against one of the leading compression brands in the marketplace to assess whether the compression properties were sustained after multiple washes and how this compared to the other brand.

The fabric was subjected to 100 wash cycles followed by an extension test. The fabric not only retained its original size and shape (against the competitor which shrunk significantly) but also retained the same high level of compression at the conclusion of testing.

The SRC Recovery Garment’s flatlock seams increase comfort during exercise and prevent chafing and wound aggravation.

Sizing *Important

Correct measurement for these garments is crucial. As they are medical garments they may not always correlate to general/fashion clothing sizes. General fashion sizes also vary drastically by country and by brand (we find that an Australian XS can equate to a S or even M in American sizes) so we strongly recommend you have someone else take your measurements and use this guide to size yourself up.

Sizing for twin pregnancies is identical to sizing for single pregnancies.

See this video on how to measure and read below. You are also welcome to visit us in store for a professional measurement.

Recovery Size Guide Measurement
Do not take your own measurement. Compression garments require accurate fit to function. Be measured in your underwear only. Stand with your heels together and have the person measuring you keep the measuring tape straight. They should place the tape over your hips, pubic bone and bottom at the fullest part. The tape should touch your body at all points but not be pulled tight.
We recommend you measure from 36 weeks for SRC Recovery Shorts and Leggings.

Differences in Compression Lengths

This is a question we get asked a lot by women wondering which length will be the best fit for their needs. Each length has different features and benefits and, ultimately, it comes down to personal preference for each customer in what they will get the most wear from:

Full-length leggings provide the best venous return and are a fashion staple that can be worn like any other pair of black leggings. However, you may need help putting them on for the first time, and they may not be preferable for women in warmer climates.

Regular (knee-length) shorts can be worn like bike shorts as both an undergarment and outerwear. They provide a slightly better venous return than the Mini length.

Mini Length Shorts are preferred by many women because they fit perfectly under shorter dresses and are great for hotter climates. They are also the easiest to put on.

Difference Between Standard Recovery and C-Section Recovery Garment

Choosing the right compression garment is essential for optimal postpartum recovery. SRC Health offers 2 types of recovery garment options:

1. SRC Recovery Shorts & Leggings:

  • Purpose: Designed for general post-pregnancy recovery, regardless of whether the delivery is vaginal or by C-section.
  • Support Areas: Provides targeted compression to the abdomen, back, pelvis, and perineum
  • Usage: 24-hour wearability, providing support during light physical activities and aiding in your recovery process.
  • Options: Available in both Regular Shorts, Mini Shorts and Leggings to suit your preference and wardrobe needs.

2. The New SRC C-Section Recovery Garments

These garments have all of the features and benefits of the SRC Recovery Shorts with a few additions, specifically to make them even more suitable and comfortable for C-section births. Naturally, they can also be worn for vaginal births.

Here are the 3 main differences:

  • SRC C-Section Recovery Garments are even more comfortable for C-section births with flatlock seams placed in a way to minimise any chance of coming in contact with the C-section wound.
  • SRC C-Section Recovery Garments have an extra soft band that minimises the effort required to put on the shorts soon after what is a major abdominal surgery.
  • SRC C-Section Recovery Garments have 2 convenient side pockets of ample size to fit most mobile phone models.

Materials and Fabric

Specially designed by women for women, SRC's postpartum compression garments are crafted to provide support and flexibility for recovering mums without any feeling of restriction. Using smooth, breathable, anti-chafing fabrics, they are designed for prolonged wear without causing irritation, ensuring comfort throughout the day.

Both the shell and the lining of the SRC Recovery garments are also made of 80% polyamide and 20% elastane. With uniquely milled, high-quality fabrics, you can rest assured that they maintain their elasticity and shape even after multiple wears and washes. With this True Cross Compression Technology, each layer of fabric is cut differently, providing consistent and reliable compression during any activity so you never lose the support you need during recovery.
